【摘要】:Thisguidecoverstheselection,installation,maintenance,andtestingofshipboardfiredetectionsystemsotherthansprinklersystems.Thisguideisintendedforusebyallpersonsplanning,designing,installing,orusingfirealarmsystemsonboardvessels.Asitincludesregulatoryrequirements,thisguideaddressesthosevesselssubjecttoregulationsandshipclassificationrules.However,theprinciplesstatedhereinarealsosuitableforunregulatedcommercialvessels,pleasurecraft,militaryvessels,andsimilarvesselsthatarenotrequiredtomeetregulationsforfiredetectionandalarmsystems.Limitations-Thisguidedoesnotconstituteregulationsorshipclassificationrules,whichmustbeconsultedwhenapplicable.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
